Borane triethylamine complex is a common reagent for synthesis of borane silhydride and m - triaryl porphyrin. It can also be used to prepare liquid hydrogen storage materials. Maze h-BN nanowires (BNNWs) can be synthesized with ammonia at low temperature to 400℃. It can be involved in the synthesis of boron nitride materials, by changing the biochemical temperature, it can also be obtained in a variety of forms, such as thin films, nanotubes and porous foams.

Commonly used in the following environments:
• Reduction of amine-borane addendum by ethanol decomposition
• Photochemical hydroborization and oxidation of single-walled carbon nanotubes
